Creation of the dispatch and analysis center of the Coal Department of JSC "Qarmet"

The dispatch and analytical center of the Coal Department of JSC "Qarmet" was created as part of the enterprise digitalization project and the implementation of an innovative domestic production management system DMMS.

Date of creation: August 2024.

Location: Republic of Kazakhstan, the city of Karaganda, the building of the Coal Department.

Information about the customer: JSC "Qarmet" is the largest Kazakhstan steel and mining company, which owns the Karaganda Metallurgical Plant (Temirtau) - the largest steelmaking enterprise in Kazakhstan. The mines of the Coal Department of "Qarmet" are used to extract bedded minerals by underground mining.

Project implementation goal: Compliance with the requirements of the "Rules for Ensuring Industrial Safety for Hazardous Production Facilities of Coal Mines". Ensuring continuous and operational monitoring and analysis of all production processes at eight mines and two processing plants for effective resource management and production optimization.

  • Centralization of operational control and coordination of production process management at the enterprise - mining and processing.
  • Continuous positioning and monitoring of personnel in the mines ensures precise tracking of the location of each employee and quantitative accounting of personnel located in the mines.
  • Comprehensive analysis of data from sensors (AGZ and VGP) in all mines provides not only information on the state of gases and ventilation systems, but also actively signals excess gas levels and deviations in the operation of ventilation units.
  • Visualization of production indicators for 8 mines and 2 processing plants helps in comparing actual and planned performance in key areas such as coal mining, driving and processing.
  • The use of systems for precise ground positioning helps to accurately determine the location of objects on the surface, which is critical for coordinating work over large areas.
  • Ensuring security through video surveillance systems covering aboveground and underground sections of mines, which guarantee real-time surveillance.
  • Advanced interactive widget features provide in-depth data analysis and trend tracking, making it easier to take action quickly and predictively based on relevant information.

Project development prospects: The possibility of further development and scaling of the system has been ensured, which provides for both an increase in the number of control objects and the functional capabilities of the system. By the end of 2025, the implementation of a positioning system will be completed at all eight mines of the company, which determines the location and health status of miners in real time.
